Katherine Péloquin

Katherine Péloquin (she/her) completed a doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Ottawa and a postdoctoral fellowship in the psychology department at Université de Sherbrooke. She is a professor in the department of psychology at Université de Montréal. She is a member of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Intimate Relationship Problems and Sexual Abuse (CRIPCAS) and of the SCOUP – Sexuality and Couples research team supported by Québec’s society and culture research fund, the FRQSC (Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et Culture), as well as being President-Elect of the Canadian Sex Research Forum. Her research work aims to understand the individual and relational factors that foster well-being and optimal relationship functioning, as well as the factors that contribute to relationship problems in the general population and within targeted clinical populations. Among other things, she is interested in romantic attachment, partner support, dyadic stress management and sexuality, as well as the effectiveness of couple psychotherapy. Her work also looks at the experiences of couples who undergo medically assisted reproduction and the steps that can help these couples to cope while they are on this difficult path. She is a co-researcher with the STORIES research project, which is part of the Canada Research Chair in Third-Party Reproduction and Family Ties research program.
