The Chair would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Marie-Rose Lépine, a doctoral student in psychology at UQO and a research assistant, for winning the Best psychosocial paper award at the 72nd Annual Meeting of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS). This award came with a $750 grant.
Marie-Rose received this award for her presentation titled “Negotiating Grandparenthood in Third-Party Reproduction: Identity, Legitimacy, and Boundaries.” Drawing on findings from the project Intergenerational Ties Through the Lens of Third-Party Reproduction, which she coordinates, the presentation examined the grandparental identity of individuals whose children served as third parties in the surrogacy process (either as gamete or embryo donors, or as surrogates).
The Annual Meeting of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society was held in Calgary from September 17 to 19. The Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society is a national organization bringing together professionals and researchers in the fields of fertility, assisted reproduction, and reproductive health.
